Kennebec Valley Youth Symphony Orchestra is for serious music students in grades 7-12 (and older) who wish to play standard full orchestra repertoire. Exceptionally mature and advanced younger students may also be considered. We believe it is very important for each student to support their local school’s music program, in addition to this wonderful enrichment opportunity. Please continue in your school ensemble!
Collaboration with Mid-Maine Youth Symphony
KVYSO is very aware of how busy young Maine musicians can be! We schedule rehearsals in the evening to accommodate after-school commitments, and take a break during the majority of the Mid-Maine Youth Orchestra season so that musicians can play in both ensembles. We meet at the Unviersity of Maine at Augusta to minimize travel time for area youth and families.
